This week on the Sex & Sydney Blog is about a recent conversation I had with my friends about something in my dating life, which sounded insignificant to me at the time, but it somehow completely shook and divided our entire group... I don't fuck on the first date.
So, I recently went on a date with this guy that I met at a bar. He was cute and charming, and I smelt a whiff of potential. I didn't tell him what I did for work - I mean, I had only just met the guy so I didn't want to frighten him. We just talked at the bar, exchanged digits, and we went home separately. We messaged a bit, and then went out sometime the week after to a fancy restaurant in Potts Point - close to where we both lived. Pretty early into the dinner I realised I had no interest in pursuing things further with this guy (aka no potential). However, out of politeness we hung out for a fair few hours and even went for a walk to get ice cream. He walked me to my car, kissed me goodnight and we parted ways.
When I told my friends about it, I told them that there was no second date on the cards, but that I still thought he was very cute and so might fuck him one day. Half of my group's mouths immediately hit the floor so hard they almost made a hole.
