Someone asked me recently why people tend to open up to me so quickly.

The answer is not complicated: I go first.
I say something real before I've been invited to, and then the room changes temperature, and then the other person decides they can be real too.
It is not a technique. It is just what happens when someone forgets to perform. I forget constantly. It is possibly my greatest professional skill and my worst poker face.
