My earliest of interests was old stuff and anything historical. Old houses, old falling down barns, i love archaeology books. I went on to complete my degree majoring in History. I’ve half finished a master’s in archaeology before life (rudely) interrupted. I’ve always go a book in my handbag and I’m currently obsessed with the Viking period after seeing an amazing exhibition at the British Museum.
Growing up in the country, i always loved the outdoors, mainly because there was nothing else to do. From a young age I was riding half broken-in horses, swimming in rivers, dams and other questionable bodies of water. We rode our bikes everywhere and went to martial arts lessons. I went on to compete in triathlon throughout university and later switched to road cycling. I got right into the gym for a long time, but craved the outdoors.
I’ve done some hiking in the Himalayas, Scottish highlands and Norway and skiing in New Zealand, but mainly my adventures have been within Australia. Ningaloo Reef and Jervis Bay diving, snow shoeing and snow camping in our beautiful Snowy mountains was my favourite. Day to day, i like a local bushwalk or snorkel at the beach. Recently I’ve added pole dancing classes and it’s one of the hardest things I’ve done so far.
