I think some men may be wondering why I can’t accept bookings every day, and in this little blog post, I thought I’d explain why.
The simple answer is that I want to preserve the quality of my attention and energy for every booking that I do.
Something that may not always be obvious from the outside is just how much preparation goes into a date before I’ve even showed up at the hotel door.
There’s getting ready, doing my hair and makeup, choosing outfits and lingerie, organising the location or travelling to an outcall, and making sure all the little details are taken care of beforehand.
But there’s also the mental preparation.
Whether I’m meeting a new face for the very first time or greeting someone familiar, I want to arrive feeling excited, present and genuinely curious about the person in front of me.
The quality of bookings that I want to give and be known for requires significant social, physical and emotional energy output on my part, and as a naturally introverted INFP, I’ve learned that I simply can’t do many of them in quick succession.
I need quiet days in between to recharge.
Sometimes that means staying home, reading, catching up on life admin, tending to my plants, or simply spending some time alone to recharge my social battery. Then, when it’s time to get dressed and see someone again, I’m actually looking forward to it.
I think that matters.
I’m the type of person who wants to do everything she does well, and that includes my work, which I take seriously as a craft.
For me, it’s never been about filling every available space in my calendar. I’d much rather have fewer bookings and make the ones I do accept feel genuinely special.
I want to be able to listen properly. To be curious about you. To laugh with you. To remember the things you’ve told me during our last meet.
To give you my full energy and attention without secretly wishing I could crawl into bed and sleep for a gazillion years. :p
And I think knowing my own limits is part of being able to do that consistently.
So if you enquire and discover that I’m having a quiet day, or that I don’t have another appointment available immediately afterwards, please don’t take it personally. I’m simply looking after the warm energy that I eventually get to share with you.
If I can’t bring my full positive energy, warmth and curiosity to a booking, I’d rather not do it.
That is how I operate, as I myself have a high standard for how I conduct my own bookings.
