Dear Diary,
I love this city.
Every time I come home to Melbourne, I remember why it has such a special place in my heart. There is something magical about wandering through the streets on a cool afternoon, finding a hidden little café, watching the trams roll by and seeing people wrapped up in scarves, rushing somewhere important.
Melbourne has personality. It has soul.
This week has been a whirlwind of beautiful clients, long conversations, laughter and a little bit of glamour mixed in too. One minute I'm walking a red carpet in a ball gown, the next I'm curled up with a coffee planning my next adventure. Somehow my life always seems to balance excitement with those quiet little moments that mean the most.
As I've gotten older, I've learned that pleasure isn't always about grand gestures. Sometimes it's a glass of wine with a view. Sometimes it's holding hands. Sometimes it's a long bath after a busy week. Sometimes it's simply making someone feel seen, heard and appreciated.
I think that's why I love what I do.
I get to meet incredible people. I get to hear their stories. I get to help them forget about work, stress and responsibilities for a little while and remind them that life is meant to be enjoyed.
Next week I'll be heading off to Sydney for a few days, and then who knows where the road will take me after that. But tonight I'm here in Melbourne, looking out across a city that has given me so many opportunities, friendships, adventures and memories.
The older I get, the more grateful I become.
Grateful for my health.
Grateful for my freedom.
Grateful for the people who invite me into their lives.
And grateful that after all these years, I still wake up excited about what tomorrow might bring.
