escort diary® of Emi Laurentis: Champagne Decisions & Morning Reflections
At Least I Was Memorable
Last week touring was… unexpectedly eventful.
I went away with one of my favourite girlfriends with every intention of working, making money and being reasonably well behaved.
We achieved two out of three.
There was work, there was partying, probably a little too much drinking, a lot of laughing and, somewhere along the way, my usual filter became slightly less efficient.
I may have overshared.
I may have danced and sung during a booking.
I may have woken up the next morning thinking, “Emi, perhaps we could have kept a little more mystery.”
But at least I was memorable.
And despite the occasional morning-after moment of questioning some of my life choices, I had such a fun week.
We worked, we made money, we laughed at ourselves and collected the kind of stories that become funnier every time you tell them.
It also made me reflect a little.
I spend so much time trying to have everything together. To be professional, independent, responsible and polished.
But what is life if you never allow yourself to be a little silly?
Maybe I could drink less sometimes. Maybe I could overshare less. And perhaps not every booking needs a spontaneous musical performance.
There is always room for improvement.
But I don’t want to become so concerned with doing everything perfectly that I forget to actually enjoy my life.
I would rather have a few moments that make me cringe the next morning than look back and realise I spent my life being afraid to make a fool of myself.
I work hard. I make my own money. I travel. And occasionally, I make questionable decisions that become excellent stories.
That feels like a pretty good life to me.
Why have a boring life when you can have a beautifully chaotic one?
YOLO, but with slightly better judgement next time.
Maybe.
