escort diary® of Claudia Bellini: What Intimacy Looks Like When Nobody Is Performing

One of the most unexpected gifts this work has given me is how much it has changed the way I see men.

We hear so often that there are “no good men left”. That healthy masculinity is disappearing. That men don’t really need emotional or intellectual connection, that sex is mostly physical for them, and that in this industry especially, what they are looking for is simply a service. Something transactional. A need to satisfy.

My experience has been so incredibly different.

If anything, this work has made me find more respect, tenderness and love for men. I have met men who are thoughtful, vulnerable, funny, respectful, curious, emotionally intelligent and deeply appreciative of being given a space where they don’t have to perform either.

And maybe part of that is because I don’t want to perform for them.

I’ve never been interested in creating an illusion or following a script. I don’t want someone to choose me because they had a last-minute dopamine rush and I happened to be available. I want us to choose each other. I want to know a little about the human being I’m meeting, and I want them to understand something about me too.

That takes more time. Sometimes it means conversations that technically are “free work”. It means answering my own messages, having boundaries around how I accept bookings, sometimes saying no, and sometimes encouraging someone to find another person if I genuinely don’t think we are the right match.

But I believe that time comes back to me in a much more valuable way.

Because when two people arrive already feeling safe, curious and comfortable with each other, intimacy becomes something completely different.

Some of the most beautiful moments I’ve experienced through this work have actually brought me back to the simplest things. Kissing. Eye contact. Touch. Smell. Laughter. Being silly. Being vulnerable. Being able to stop thinking for a while and just be completely present with another person.

Sex can be a bridge. A language. A way of communicating things we sometimes struggle to put into words, and a way of learning something about another person and, occasionally, something about ourselves.

We live in a world that moves unbelievably fast. We scroll, swipe, consume and replace. Our attention is constantly being pulled somewhere else. There is something almost rebellious now about giving another human being your complete attention for a few hours.

And the feelings inside those hours can be real.

I think sometimes people struggle with that idea because money is involved. But boundaries and authenticity are not opposites. Something can exist within a clearly defined space and still contain genuine affection, chemistry, tenderness, laughter and care. Some of the people I have met through this work have become incredibly meaningful connections and friendships to me. We know what the boundaries are, but what we feel as human beings within them does not suddenly become fake because those boundaries exist.

I also remember being genuinely surprised when I started doing this work by what men actually appreciated about me.

Not perfection.

My natural body. A clean, natural look. My imperfections. My knowledge. My values. My kindness. My weirdness and silliness. My vulnerability. The conversations before and after. The fact that I don’t always know what is going to happen next because I’m not following a script.

It challenged some of my own assumptions too.

The stereotypical image people have of “the type of man who sees an escort” feels almost unrecognisable compared with so many of the people I have actually met. They are human beings with careers, families, insecurities, responsibilities, desires, loneliness, confidence, fears, curiosity and incredibly different reasons for being here.

Just like everyone else.

I feel privileged that people trust me enough to let me into that part of themselves.

And perhaps this is also something I would love other workers to take from my experience. There is no single correct way to do sex work, and meaningful does not have to mean sacrificing boundaries or giving endlessly of yourself. Quite the opposite. I think strong boundaries are part of what allows genuine connection to exist safely.

But if this approach resonates with you, I think there can be enormous value in slowing things down. In having the conversation. In not automating every interaction or treating every enquiry as a conversion. In allowing yourself to say, “This person feels right for me,” or, “Actually, they don’t.”

Because the little bit of extra time I give has paid me back in ways I never expected.

This work has shown me that sex work can hold empowerment, beauty, curiosity and sometimes even healing. It has shown me another side of masculinity. And it has reminded me that intimacy doesn’t always need a conventional story around it to have meaning.

So if you are reading this as a client and have always felt that you wanted something a little different, perhaps this is why you found your way to my page.

And if you are another worker reading it, perhaps there is something here that resonates with the way you want to work too.

For me, this has become a shared journey between two human beings who are allowed, for a little while, to simply be real with each other.

And when trust, attraction, curiosity, vulnerability and chemistry all happen to align, that is where I think intimacy becomes something really beautiful.
