Long weekends always feel a little different.
The city exhales.
The emails slow down. The meetings disappear. The endless list of things we’re supposed to be doing becomes slightly less urgent.
And yet I’ve noticed something curious.
When people are finally given a little extra time, they don’t always know what to do with it.
Some fill every minute. Some scroll endlessly. Some promise themselves they’ll relax, only to discover they don’t quite remember how.
I think that’s why I love Sundays.
Not because they’re productive, but because they invite reflection.
A slow breakfast. A walk without a destination. A conversation that isn’t rushed. A moment that exists purely because you chose it.
The older I get, the more I realise that luxury isn’t always about five-star hotels, expensive wine, or first-class flights.
Sometimes luxury is simply being present.
Being somewhere you want to be.
With someone you enjoy.
Without looking at the clock.
As Sydney settles into the long weekend, that’s what I’m appreciating today.
A little less noise.
A little more intention.
And perhaps a reminder that some of life’s best moments are the ones we don’t schedule.
