My earliest of interests was old stuff and anything historical. I love archaeology books. I went on to complete my degree majoring in History and a half finished a master’s in archaeology and paleo anthropology. I’ve always got a book in my handbag and I’m currently obsessed with the Viking period after seeing an amazing exhibition at the British Museum.

Growing up in the country, i loved the outdoors. From a young age I was riding half broken-in horses, swimming in rivers, dams and other questionable bodies of water. We rode our bikes everywhere and went to martial arts lessons (I really wanted to do dance but Dad said we needed to fight off kidnappers). I went on to compete in triathlon throughout university and later switched to road cycling. I got right into the gym and particularly loved outdoor adventures.

I’ve done a little travelling, nothing glamorous, some hiking in the Himalayas, Scottish highlands and Norway and skiing in New Zealand. Mainly my adventures have been within Australia. Ningaloo Reef and Jervis Bay diving, snow shoeing and snow camping in our beautiful Snowy mountains was my favourite. Day to day, i like a local bushwalk or snorkel at the beach. Pole dancing class is my current fitness obsession. I will give mostly anything challenging a crack.

When it comes to food, I always cook at home but I really love to go out for dinner whenever I get the opportunity. There are lots of places I would love to try in the city and I really love my local neighbourhood restaurant. One thing you must know if you visit me on a winter night is that you will be in charge of lighting the fire!
