The Popularity of OnlyFans and Digital Services
Hello there.
Since I'm officially in my second week of starting up my OnlyFans (@katijacortez), I thought it would be fitting to write an OnlyFans related blog post this week!
OnlyFans has always fascinated me, and I'm shocked it took so long for something like it to come out. What I love the most about OnlyFans is that it really did start the normalisation of sex work. I will be forever grateful to OnlyFans, because if it wasn't for OF I never would have made the leap into escorting.
See below for the excerpt of the first 3 paragraphs of my article:

As the pandemic grew, so did many other parts of the economy – online work, online study, online shopping; and so inevitably, online sex.
The number of users on Onlyfans pre-pandemic was around 8 million. Since the pandemic, more recent figures show the number of Onlyfans users at almost 200 million. In 2020 (the first year of the pandemic), the online sex industry was estimated to be worth almost AUD$70 billion, and continues to skyrocket month on month across all platforms.
The pandemic and forced lockdowns saw many of us confined to our homes. The government could control where we went, but they couldn’t control our sex drives. People had to turn to other ways of getting their fix... Enter OnlyFans. Except, with most of the world now out of lockdown, what is the continued appeal? Why has OnlyFans not died after the end of lockdowns?
