On Charlie's advertising, one of her slogans or catchphrases is, "People remember how you make them feel".
Never was a truer word spoken.
I first reached out to Charlie about a year ago at the height of the concurrent lockdowns in my hometown of Sydney, and hers in Melbourne. My goal was to introduce myself, request a dinner date booking once the lockdowns eased, and submit my info for pre-screening.
Her response could not have been warmer or more welcoming. She seemed genuinely excited at the prospect of meeting,.
But the pandemic continued, and at least four attempts to meet were thwarted due to cancelled travel on both our parts.
During that year, we corresponded via email, and her words always betrayed kindness and a level of patience and trust throughout the frustrating cancellations.
But on May 12, I finally had the privilege of meeting Charlie in person during her long-awaited tour to Sydney.
We met at Darling Harbour for dinner, before walking back to her hotel in the rain with her on my arm for lots more laughs and banter, and what I can only describe as the most intimate and passionate adult time I've ever experienced.
Charlie has a way of disarming you, of getting inside your heart and soul and, in my case, of making this middle-aged man feel like a 20-something year-old again.
In summary, Charlie is smart, wise, astute, and fierce. But she is also incredibly kind, sensitive, intuitive, stunningly beautiful, sexy, naughty, and oh so nice!
I will ALWAYS remember how good she made me feel.
