Kind but Firm
Being kind is so hard difficult in this world. Most of the time our predilections and selfishness get in the way of just a little patience and understanding. This is especially true when it comes to being dominant- so many expect you to be rude, domineering, selfish, or sometimes just plain abusive. I hear stories from my clients mostly about dominants just not listening to their needs and wants- which is of the utmost in the bedroom and in general interaction. Just listening and understanding what your sub wants, watching their body language, micro-expressions and talking things over is so so important! You don't have to be constantly mean in interactions or have a large ego to be dominant.
If you're someone who has been worried about seeing someone dominant because of this, maybe it's worth exploring again with someone who listens and has a good understanding of that mutual respect in the D/s relationship.
