Beauty vs. Brains: The role of a courtesan
Courtesan: a woman prostitute, especially one whose clients are members of a royal court or men of high social standing.
After another incredible weekend of work in Sydney and the opportunity to have some wonderful dates with great guys, I am back home for some much-needed R&R to recharge and spend time with my family. Even amongst the busyness of the weekend, I had some time to think about conversations I’ve had over the past few weeks with my clients, both regulars and soon-to-be regulars, about what it is that they are looking for when they book our service. Is it just physical beauty? Or does percieved intelligence and personality trump looks?
The overwhelming majority of men I’ve spoken to about this have given me some very valuable feedback, especially regarding the way we as escorts prioritize aspects of our online profiles. I have found that intelligence/personality compatibility is equally as important as physical attraction. Maybe this sounds like a no-brainer to some, but I think it’s tempting to believe that transactions such as those we make, between courtesan and client, rely on nothing more than a man’s desire for a particular woman’s body. This may be enough for an initial date, but, like physical beauty, it doesn’t usually go much deeper.
The men who I see on a regular basis, are looking for a connection based on more than just the physical. They want conversation, laughter, good banter, and great company. After all, in a booking of several hours, you will most likely be spending the majority of that time conversing and socialising rather than in the bedroom doing the deed, so to speak. And I think most people will agree that the better the personal connection, the better the physical connection.
I am reclaiming the word ‘courtesan’ to describe myself, not because all the men I see are necessarily of high social standing, but because those who I choose to spend time with have a high respect for women in general and value my time and attention. They are not intimidated by a woman who has both brains and beauty, laughs loudly, and has a very healthy appetite for the pleasures of the flesh. They are confident in themselves and know what they like in a woman.
