escort diary® of Kaliheartholistic: The moment he stopped trying
There’s a moment I love noticing.
It doesn’t happen at the start.
It doesn’t happen because I’ve done something special.
It happens when he stops trying.
You can feel it in the way his body shifts.
His breath drops a little deeper.
His shoulders stop holding quite so tightly.
At first, there’s always a kind of focus.
A quiet attention on doing things well.
On staying present in the “right” way.
It’s subtle… but it’s there.
And then something changes.
Not because I’ve asked him to do anything.
Not because he’s pushed himself further.
But because the space doesn’t ask anything of him.
And that’s when his body begins to respond differently.
The sensation spreads.
The breath slows without effort.
There’s less tension around what should happen next.
It becomes less about getting somewhere…
and more about being inside what’s already happening.
Sometimes emotion moves through.
Sometimes it’s just a deeper kind of stillness.
But it always feels real.
I noticed it again recently after coming out of my training.
That same softening I felt there…
I saw reflected back in him.
And it reminded me of something simple.
We don’t open because we try harder.
We open when something in us realises…
we don’t have to.
