escort diary® of Amity Addams: Midway Musings: Far North Queensland Tour Diaries
We’re officially halfway through our 18-night Far North Queensland driving tour, and I wanted to pause for a moment to share a little behind-the-scenes update from the road.
So far, Gladstone, Mackay, Airlie Beach, Townsville, Cairns and Rockhampton have all welcomed us with open arms — and busy calendars. I’m currently writing this from Airlie Beach, listening to the waves roll in, finally taking a quiet breath between bookings.
Despite January being known as the “quiet season,” this tour has been anything but. It’s been incredibly busy — filled with familiar faces, lovely regulars, long days, late nights, and full hearts. Feeling this in-demand during what’s traditionally a slower time of year is something I’ll never take for granted. It’s truly a blessing to be so tired and so busy all at once.
Alaska and I had all these plans to sightsee, explore, and play tourist… but the reality is we’ve barely had time to leave the room. And honestly? That’s okay. Right now, we’re soaking up the moments we can — the ocean air, the sound of the sea, a quiet coffee, the simple joy of being exactly where we’re meant to be.
This leg of the trip has also been extra special as we celebrated Alaska’s birthday on the road, which made the journey even more memorable. There’s something really beautiful about marking milestones while doing what we love, together.
We’re looking forward to the rest of the trip, the places still to come, and the incredible connections that make these tours so rewarding. And as always — this has cemented what we already knew: this is a tradition we’ll continue once a year.
Thank you to everyone who has welcomed us so warmly so far. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the road brings ????
